Meet Habitat Homeowners, The Watson Family
August 5, 2021
This is their story …
Meet Ayisha Watson, a single mom with ailing medical conditions struggling to give her two sons a clean, stable home. Ayisha found Habitat for Humanity through a news story showing a Habitat for Humanity partner family getting their keys to their own home. Curious about the program, Ayisha reached out to Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity for additional information.
Living in a small 2 bedroom apartment without a stove for over 2 years mixed with a mice infestation, Ayisha had the need for a safe, affordable home. In a little over 18 months, Ayisha and her two boys finished their required 350 sweat equality hours, took financial classes and saved for their closing cost.
Thanks to the funding provided by the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners, the Watson Family is now in their brand new 1,200 sq. ft. home in Glassboro, NJ! The 49th Habitat home in Gloucester County!
