Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity Accepts Generous Donation from Woodbury American Legion Post 133
Glassboro, NJ. (November 11, 2021) – Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity received a donation of $7,500 from Woodbury American Legion Post 133 to purchase materials to repair, a 3 time war veteran Mr. Leo J. Harris’ home in Glassboro. The build is a community effort with Pitman’s nonprofit the Angels Community Outreach who is also raisings funds & bringing volunteers out to repair Mr. Harris’ home.
Members of the Woodbury American Legion Post 133 presented the check to Gloucester County Habitat’s Tony Isabella at this month’s Legion meeting. “I am extremely grateful to accept this donation on behalf of the affiliate. The Woodbury American Legion Post 133 donation means a great deal to the affiliate and to Mr. Harris, a true American hero,” said Tony Isabella. “This donation comes at an excellent time as Gloucester County Habitat and Angels Community Outreach start construction on Mr. Harris’ ADA Compliant ramp collaboration with the Home Depot, Quikrete, and Columbia Bank”
With a goal to raise $20,000 to repair flooring, walls, electrical outlets, the bathroom and more at Mr. Harris’ home Habitat and Angels are exemplifying the phrase “team work, makes the dream work”. With the goal is to have the ramp and much needed home improvements completed before the Christmas holiday, the nonprofits are asking for donations at https://gc-habitat.org/product/vetdonation/.
