ReStore Volunteer

With the help of volunteers, the ReStore can accomplish our work and drive sales to be a strong financial arm for Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity.

Our ReStore is not just a place where you can donate your gently used items and find a great deal on furniture and building materials. It is a place where people from all walks of life work together for a greater good, strengthening families and builds homes.

Within our ReStore, volunteers will have the opportunity to turn donations into building funds for partner families within our Affordable Homeownership Program. This opportunity may include giving a little extra attention and love to items before they are placed on the display floor, helping customers, or putting your organizational skills to the test.

There’s Something for Everyone when Volunteering at the ReStore

There are many opportunities to serve at Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and we would love to partner with you in an effort to eliminate sub-standard housing in Gloucester County.

Take a look at some of the volunteer options that are available when volunteering at the ReStore:

Front Counter Assistants:

Answer phones, help bag items, assist customers with checkout, and help with paperwork.

Sales Floor/Floaters:

Sales floor workers assist customers in locating departments and specific items. They answer questions about items or refer customers to ReStore staff for further information.

Receiving/Processing:

A strong volunteer works at the loading dock unloading donations directly from the ReStore donation truck. Assistance with this job requires lifting/moving of furniture. We look to volunteers who are able and willing to lift 50lbs. The merchandise is then cleaned and taken to the sales floor.

Ready to Volunteer at the ReStore?

Our ReStore is a warehouse environment and volunteers must dress appropriately. Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed toe shoes (tennis shoes are fine but no crocs or flip flops.) Dress is casual with a T-shirt and jeans or a T-shirt and shorts during the summer. Shirts with any graphic language or images are prohibited. The ReStore can be dirty and dusty, so chances are you will leave here less pristine than when you came. Sign up to volunteer below, or contact us for more information.
