First-time homebuyer; brings 3 generations together under one roof
Pitman, NJ. (Tuesday, November 22, 2022) –Habitat for Humanity celebrates the sale of our 52nd home in Gloucester County to first time homebuyer, Kennetha Dixon. Ms. Dixon’s decision to pursue purchasing an affordable home through Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity’s (GCHFH) Homeownership Program was to provide a safe, stable home for her daughter and young granddaughter, who are currently living in Georgia. Owning a home will be instrumental for the opportunities for growth physically, mentally, and emotionally for Ms. Dixon’s granddaughter, employment opportunities for her daughter, and the opportunity for Ms. Dixon to host her whole family just in time for the holiday season.
“I am going to appreciate having three generations of females back together under one roof and especially being able to see my granddaughter daily. – Kennetha Dixon, GCHFH Homeowner
This opportunity would not have been possible without the support of First Harvest Credit Union, who provided the mortgage to the family and the contributions from many foundations, the local business community and GCHFH volunteers.
“Like Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity, First Harvest Credit Union is committed to helping families achieve the goal of homeownership, and we’re happy to provide financing on another Habitat home,” said Daniel Sulpizio, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer at First Harvest Credit Union. “We’re excited to help celebrate the completion of this safe, affordable home, which will benefit a hardworking Gloucester County family.”
The Gloucester County community, local businesses, and elected officials are invited to tour the Habitat home located at 409 Deptford Ave. Woodbury, NJ 08096 at 3:30 on Tuesday, December 6th at 3:30pm. A home dedication will directly follow at 4pm.
