Loretta Winters

Board Member
Brief info

Loretta Winters has worn many hats over the years as the influential longtime president of the Gloucester County branch of the NAACP. Winters, sits as board chair at First Harvest Credit Union, has been fighting for civil rights for decades in Gloucester County in various roles.

Along with the NAACP and First Harvest, Winters sits on the boards at Planned Parenthood Northern, Central, and Southern NJ, Samaritan Health DEI, the Rowan College Foundation, Habitat for Humanity in Gloucester County and the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.

Winters provides servant leadership to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race and ethnic-based discrimination. In her journey for equality and justice for all, Winters has been at the forefront for social and criminal justice.

She founded the first and only NAACP College Foundation at Rowan College at Gloucester County — now Rowan College of South Jersey — and, under her leadership, established the first NAACP high school chapter in the State of New Jersey.

Perhaps her most important title of all is that of wife and supporter of her husband, Sonny Winters, and his business, as well as mother to their children.
